If you really want to disappoint your parents, and don't have the nerve to be gay, go into the arts. ~K Vonnegut

I just read on Yahoo that Kurt Vonnegut - one of my favorite authors - has died. If you don't know who Kurt Vonnegut is, where have you been? Here is a list of the novels Kurt has written: Player Piano (1952); The Sirens of Titan (1959); Mother Night (1961); Cat's Cradle (1963); God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, or Pearls Before Swine (1965); Slaughter-house Five, or The Children's Crusade (1969); Breakfast Of Champions, or Goodbye, Blue Monday (1973); Slapstick, or Lonesome No More (1976); Jailbird (1979); Deadeye Dick (1982); Galapgos (1985); Bluebeard (1987); Hocus Pocus (1990); Timequake (1997). Read one of his books. It just might change your life.

So, in other goings on, I still need to do my taxes. Dangit! Hate taxes... but as good ole Ben Franklin said - and I'm paraphrasing here - There are only two certain things in life: death and taxes.

It's crunch time... need to finish the baby blanket... I want to put it in the mail by... April 24... that's in twelve days... Hope she'll like it...

I'm wearing the sweater I won at the knitting group raffle last night - thanks Heather - and everyone so far thinks it looks really nice. [Yet another picture pending.] Thanks Monica (?) for making it and giving it to the raffle. Got one of the two Ice Dog satchels. Hooray! Had to logic a pair of US8 straight needles from a new lady to the group... she was using a pair and I'd won a pair of US9 and needed to replace one of my US8 needles I'd lost to our sofa. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to swindle her!

Going to a wedding May 12 with boyfriend & his guy friend up in Ventura... we're all three giong to share a room as it'll be more cost-effective... Micah thinks it won't be very romantic... we're going to a wedding, that's the least romantic thing ever...

That's about it for now I think.
Peas on earth, everyone!
