Ravelympics 2010

I just discovered that - back in August - there was something called Ravelympics 2008 for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games!! For those who don't know, Ravelry "hosted" knit & crochet Olympics that were to coincide with the sports Olympics. "What an awesome idea!" I thought. "Too bad I missed them." Fortunately, they might have Winter 2010 Ravelympics to go with the 2010 Winter Olympics in beautiful Canada. I can't wait. I have a lot of time to plan, but I will participate even if Ravelry doesn't do it again. Or maybe just go with the Knit Olympics. (Must look into!) That is all for now. I love Canada. Don't forget to vote!

Now, for something completely different...

One of the newest videos in the campaign.

Now, I'm exhausted and sick. Hope all is well.

Same-sex Marriage is currently legal in three of the United States.

In one week, the November 2008 polls will close. Save marriage for EVERY Californian - vote No on Prop 8. By January 1, 2009, marriage will be legal for every citizen of these countries: Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, and Spain. As "the Greatest Nation On Earth," we should be on that list. There are so many who want to take away people's constitutional rights! Marriage is legal for EVERY Californian in the California state constitution. By voting Yes on Prop 8, for whatever reason, you are erasing citizens' rights. You don't have to support gays or the fact that they can marry. You wouldn't want anyone taking your fundamental rights away from you.

A New Love In My Life

I don't know how it happened. There is something in your life that has just always been there. You've been there through the good and the bad, but one day it just hits you: I'm in love!

For some, it's a person, others a cause. For me, this time, it's a website, of all things... The AntiCraft has always been a quirky friend to me, but right now, I'm madly in love with it. Was the ground laid with the Curse Your Boyfriend sweater? Maybe the Beanis, the Snatchel, or the Fetus Coin Purse.

I don't know. All I know is I've been obsessed with Dia de los Muertos lately and their current issue is a veritable smorgasbord of Day of the Dead. (Like they don't always have amazing offbeat crazy shit, but _____.)

Alie <3's AntiCraft.

In other Alie's-world news, as many of you know it's Super Saturday. If you don't know ask somebody! I'll be writing my English essay and listening to hockey games all afternoon. Pretty much the perfect Saturday... May Odin and Vishnu watch over those in the War Room.

Halloween is one week away!! Are you ready?

We are going to be boring and stay home and not pass out candy. We'll watch some scary movie or something... maybe The Halloween Tree. Stevie and I used to watch that every year when we were young. I'm more interested in Dia de los Muertos recently, actually! So bored with Halloween it isn't funny. I want Catrinas and altars and tequila and pan de muerto and marigolds and candles and sugar skulls!!

Better get back to my Logic homework and stop obsessing over other country's holidays.

There are baby buns at school again!

On the "wild side" of campus. (My words because they aren't visited as much as the others, so they don't know people apples are okay.) The buns on that side are white with black spots along their spine. I will try to get a better photo of the babies Tuesday. I love them so much. They are the only wild life I get to see anymore.

There were mid-terms last week. I think I did pretty well, considering... I love writing papers. I've gotten all A's so far. I have approximately a 75% grade in Stats, which is awesome since the teacher will give a grade of 100% if we get a 75% or higher! Speech is a cake walk, and Philosophy (Logic) is a struggle.

I forgot how much work school is!!

In other news, there are only 15 days left before the November polls are closed. Please Vote no on Propositions 4 & 8 because they are unfair and shouldn't even exist. Protect our kids and EVERY CITIZEN'S rights. Also, please vote yes on Prop 2 to protect our farm animals. At the very least do your research.

A few wonderful things that have transpired this afternoon...

1: I saw new baby bunnies at school. They were terribly sweet.
2: I saw a sign that said "Rescue dogs"
3: Someone had a license plate the read "TRTL*heart*RZ"
4: A nice neighbor told me he'd filled up one of my tires.

And it's only Tuesday!
