Since I've been thinking about changing my last name when I get wedded, I've been trying to figure out what to do about my middle name as well. The only reason I would want to associate with my current last name is because of my brother.
Should I combine my middle & last names? Sarek? (There's actually "Zarek" which means "may god protect the king" in Persian.) Knirah? (Mirah, "glad" in Arabic, or Norah, "honor" in English.)
"Maybe I could take the first initial of my middle name and the last initial of my last name," I thought. Starbuck is all I found with "S" and "K". Starbuck, by the by, is English for "From the river where stakes were got." (c/o babynames.com) Ha!
So I think I'll just stick with Sarah as my middle name and let brother worry about our last name.

More wedding info no one cares about except us.
We will be having the ceremony at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, because they are the only chapel in Vegas with an Elvis Wedding with Elvis as officiator. (You'd think that EVERY place with an Elvis Wedding would have an Elvis officiating, right?!)
I read somewhere that Las Vegas wedding colors are: Red, Black, White and Silver, so that's what we're going for. Red dress for me. Silver/light grey bowling shirt for Micah. Black and/or white bowling shirts for our Posse Dudes. Black and/or white knee length dresses for our Posse Chicks. Adult make flower girl? "Reception" dinner at Golden Steer Steakhouse.
That's pretty much it. Our wedding will pretty much be a formality, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun with it.

And the bride wore blue...
So Micah & I got fitted for rings today. Wee... I need to get the engagement ring resized. Fortunately, the guy who resized at the store we stopped at is out of town till much later in the month. I found out that titanium rings are out for me since they don't make them tiny enough to go with my ring. I'll probably be getting a 2mm wide gold band since 3mm is even too big! Micah is still getting titanium. Not tungsten, even though they tried hard to sell them to us. Tungsten is just too heavy.) Here is some ring porn for you all if you're interested.

We've also decided that having an Elvis wedding sounds more and more fun the more we talk about it, so that's what you all should expect. Will post more as it occurs. It's late and I've had a longish day.

My monthly post
Just kidding. I've just been ridiculously busy/preoccupied lately.
I finished my six-week summer class and got another A. And I thought going back to school was gonna be hard! Fall Semester starts Monday and I'll be going full-time; will also need a part-time job. It's been hard because it's summer and nobody's hiring. I just can't wait for everyone to be hiring again, since money's getting tight. Full-time work and full-time school is impossible since I'm taking serious classes, not bs classes. At least 2.5 of my 4 classes are web-based classes. (Statistics is a hybrid. English and Philosophy are internet. Wee!) I also love that honey bunny's proud of me for going back. It isn't easy, though. Since I'm paying for it all by myself, it's taken a lot of my savings. But I'll be getting a coffee shop job soon and will be getting edjumacated (yeah, what?!) and all will be right with the world.
I've also been capitalizing on my unemployment and focusing on being a good house frau. Keeping the home clean, working on our back patio, fantasizing about the pitter-patter of little furry feet. And since Micah is so busy with work (god bless OT), I've been the one trying to work out the whole marriage planning thing. I don't see why people go to all the trouble of a wedding. It seems unreasonable to me for us to have a wedding since we've practically been married (what with living together and all) for two and a half years anyway. If we having anything besides a courthouse wedding at all, we're gonna do it right: Vegas. (And not just Vegas, Elvis. Oh, yes, I said Elvis.) It'll be kitschy and vintage and awesome.
